Bugging out with Pets

I have been thinking about this lately. I know that my dog would hunt and eat wild game but what other factors should be considered? Heartworm, fleas... Have we "pussified" our pets to the point they won't survive in the wild?

She would be with us until the end, she is part of the family. plus she can haul some stuff in doggie ruck sacks.

My doggie is too old and lazy to hunt anything but the couch and her food bowl.

She may not hunt but she is another piece of security.

Hadn't thought about the dogpacks. My little puppy is 140# and could carry his own food etc. until we were established. He could stand to lose a few lb's just like his master!

I've thought about this too, because my dog is a miniature Pomeranian (Go ahead, talk shit...I can still outshoot most of you). Not good for much, but she's part of the family, so she has extra food in a sealed container
